About Munich Airport

The Franz Josef Strauss Flughafen (airport), named after former
Bavarian Minister President Strauss, lies 28 km to the northeast
of the city. See a map.
A masterpiece of Geman engineering and design, it was only opened
in 1992 and is the second busiest airport in Germany (after Frankfurt)
handling 20 million passengers a year.

plenty of cafes dotted around, long and short term parking and amazingly,
